The Dark Horse Competition, the largest entrepreneurship and investment and financing competition in China, held its preliminary round in Taiwan on September 19, 2017. The competition focused on the smart hardware, Industry 4.0, and bio-pharmaceutical industries, and with the theme of "Natural Deep Sleep Stress Relief and Vitality Chamber," Wen-Hsiung Hsu, General Manager of TTI Biologicals, Inc. was selected as one of the winning teams after the first round of screening and represented Taiwan to advance to the next round of division preliminaries. Taiwan advanced to the next round of the preliminaries.

The competition is co-organized by Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science Park and Dark Horse, a comprehensive entrepreneurial service provider that focuses on helping innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises grow. Through the combination of online and offline modes, it provides entrepreneurial groups with a wide range of services, including entrepreneurial information, membership services, entrepreneurial counseling services, offline activities, public relations, and so on.

A total of 13 teams from Taiwan's preliminary competition went through the first round of screening and had face-to-face presentations with the judges. The themes covered the fields of intelligent hardware, Industry 4.0, and biomedicine, and a total of 8 winning themes were selected, including TTI Bio-Tech's "Natural Deep Sleep Stress Relief Vitality Chamber" theme that entered the next round of repeats, and Computer Layering AlphaGo, Functional Masks for Ark, and the Intelligent Dynamic Simulation and Scheduling System, ezOxygen Lung Vitality Wearable Device, New Innovation Ecosystem of Emoji WiFi, Smart City Solution Integration Service Platform, and Certificate VIER entered the next round of the competition on behalf of Taiwan.
